US presence is impossible for Ashurst without a merger (they don’t have the financial/prestige cache of Freshies to do it organically). It’s likely not going to be a Debevoise, Cleary, Milbank, Gibson Dunn etc. (unless others think otherwise?). Erm, who is out there that makes sense???

I can imagine it’s slightly disappointing to not hit the £1bn revenue mark – but growth in PEP is strong (and encouraging). Definitely a firm on an upward trajectory since the pretty dismal period between 2012-2016.

The U.S. presence is the missing piece (along with further bolstering its M&A practice).
