If this young man thinks voicing the rather tentatively expressed opinion “I’m not saying 12 white men would have avoided this mess, but the company may have been distracted by diversity demands” is “particularly dark” he might want to stick to the genteel world of music rather than enter the law, where opposing views are all part of everyday life.
It may be that regulatory changes gave SVB “much greater freedom to make high-risk investments” but that does not mean SVB was forced to make foolish decisions.
